Lucy In Disguise

Lucy In Disguise is the new store that has opened in London. You may have heard of it as Lily Allen (she of the pop music industry fame) and her sister, Sarah Owen, have set it up.

We were really excited to hear that as well as making 'vintage fashion attainable' for everyone, they are now branching into designing their own collection!

June this year will see an 18 piece ready-to-wear collection hitting their store and selected Harvey Nichols stores. Prices will range between £95 and £350.

The outfits are named after a famous person or place. The above sketch is 'Fortnums' - a fun Forties-style rayon crepe tea dress with a specially commissioned lily of the valley print. We love!

We wish Lily and Sarah all the best with their new venture and look forward to visiting the store!

1961 revival

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying opened to good initial reviews in New York's Broadway last night.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe (of Harry Potter fame) in the lead role of J. Pierrepont Finch who goes from window washer to chairman of the board thanks to a guidebook which helps him climb the corporate ladder. (entitled How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying hence the title of the show.)

Aside from the show being a sell-out and having some catchy tunes, we were loving some of the sixties inspired costumes;

We say bring back the dickie bow!

We are loving this chic hair do!

We think this boy wizard has definitely grown up!

SVWH Vintage Hire

We are delighted to announce that SVWH will be launching a tea party hiring service!

We are just tweaking last minute details but hope to have everything up and running soon.

You can hire gorgeous vintage teacups, saucers, cake plates, teapots and cake stands to add that vintage twist to your child's birthday party, a girlie afternoon with cake and champagne (teacups aren't just for tea you know!) or maybe even your wedding.

Chanel S/S 2011

Chanel is the ultimate name in beautiful, classic clothing and Karl Lagerfeld is an absolute genius as new collection proves.

Seen here with the gorgeous Keira Knightley (we know someone who went to school with her - a small claim to fame for them!), Karl's show was on an epic scale and we swooned over the gorgeous pieces.

The super cool Alexa Chung was there and we loved her outfit particularly her shoes! Very SVWH!

 

As we said on an epic scale, Chanel never fails to do anything by halves!
